Artem Chigvintsev’s Slavic Ethnic Root Has Helped Him Shaped the Passion and Artistry in His Dance
Artem Chigvintsev’s ethnicity, rooted in Slavic background and Russian identity, has greatly defined his career and how he styles it to his performances.
Chigvintsev was born on 12 June 1982 in Izhevsk, Udmurtia, a part of the Soviet Union, now Russia, making him a Russian.
Artem developed a passion for dancing from a very early age. At the age of 15, he left his country to follow his dream of becoming a professional dancer and pursued training in Italy, Germany, and England.
Artem’s Arrival on Dancing with the Stars Played a Significant Role in His Career
Artem Chigvintsev, best known for his dance and charismatic personality, belongs to the Russian ethnicity.
Vladimir Chigvintsev, Artem’s father, and Anna Chigvintsev, his mother, are key figures in his life. Despite their physical distance, their bond is strong and lovely.
In 2014, Artem appeared on the TV show Dancing with the Stars. There, he showed his talent and quickly gained many fans.
Soon after coming to Los Angeles, Artem learned about a reality show called So You Think You Can Dance and appeared in the first season in 2005.
Although he had many distractions there, his dreams remained his focus. On the show, he said, “If you want to be somewhere, you have to sacrifice everything for it.”
In one of Artem’s performances, judge Nigel Lythgoe said,
“Artem, if you don’t make it in the dance world, you should be a movie star. The camera loves your face.”
However, he made it to the top eight but was eliminated after that. Then, he returned the following season as a choreographer.
Chigvintsev joined a show called Strictly Come Dancing and won his first season with his dancing partner Kara Tointon.
He partnered with Holly Valance in his second season and Fern Britton in the third. Similarly, Fern claimed that her partner mistreated her partner, which Artem denied in the third season.
Moreover, Chigvintsev also appeared in the fourth season and won the second place.
He had difficulties working effectively due to constant producer changes and left the show.
Artem exchanged his vows with Nikki Bella, his dance partner, on season 25 of Dancing with the Stars. Bella and Artem welcomed their first baby, Matteo Artemovich, on July 31, 2020.
Artem Chigvintsev, Sentenced on a Charge of Domestic Violence
On Thursday, Napa County authorities in Northern California took Artem Chigvintsev to custody in Yountville after receiving a 911 call on domestic violence.
Authorities detained Chigvintsev for a major offense and set his bail at $25000, and they released him the same afternoon.
Napa County’s officer told NBC News that they will not reveal any information about the victim or their relationship with Artem.
Nikki and Artem shared an Instagram post celebrating their second-year anniversary shortly before he was condemned.
Moreover, Nikki Gracia, Artem’s wife, wants privacy in this matter. Likewise, on August 30th, she said, ” This is a private matter.”
