American Singer Mariah Carey’s Sister Alison Carey’s Kids Left Behind After Her Demise

Alison Carey, sister of singer Mariah Carey, recently lost her life at her Greene County home at 63. Despite struggles with substance use and legal issues, she was a mother of four kids. Her children now mourn her loss.

Alison Carey, born on January 1, 1962, in Long Island, was the elder sister of famous pop star Mariah Carey.

Mariah and Alison had a complicated relationship because they experienced their parents’ divorce at an early stage. Also, they were separated from each other due to this family event.

Mariah decided to stay with their mother, whereas Alison went to live with their father, which further distanced them.

And when Alison suffered addiction and legal problems over the years, things between them got worse.

Alison Carey’s Complex and Challenging Relationship With Her Kids

Alison Carey’s relationship with her kids was tumultuous in her short life. Alison married Richard McDonald in 1976.

However, the couple divorced in 1980 due to financial issues, and Alison reportedly turned to hustling to make ends meet.

Unemployment and substance use took their toll on Alison and her ability to be with her children.

In 1985, Alison remarried again, this time to Dale Scott, and two years later, in 1987, she had another son, Mike.

Soon after that, however, her world began to fall apart. In 1988, she tested positive for HIV, and in 1990, she divorced Dale Scott after years of substance abuse.

Mariah Carey reportedly paid for her sister to enter rehab on numerous occasions, but Alison’s struggles made it impossible for her to be present for her children.

Even before 2002, Alison had two other children, a daughter, and another son, but those kids have largely stayed out of the media.

The constant personal and public battles Alison was fighting affected her relationship with all of her kids, making it hard to form a strong bond.
