American Football Player Caleb Farley Has Mixed Ethnic Roots
Caleb Farley, who previously played as a cornerback for the Tennessee Titans, has mixed ethnicity, originating from his African-American father and white mother.
The professional football player was born on November 2, 1998, to father Robert Farley and mother Robin Farley in Maiden, North Carolina.
Caleb began playing football as a quarterback at Maiden High School and as a cornerback at Virginia Tech College, switching from wide receiver.
He gained popularity after the Tennessee Titans drafted him No. 22 overall in the 2021 NFL draft.
Caleb’s Father, Who Always Supported His NFL Dream, was African-American
Caleb’s mixed ethnicity stems from the diverse roots of his mother and father.
Caleb believes in religion and has a deep faith in Jesus Christ. During an interview, Caleb mentioned that his faith in God has helped him throughout his career.
On the contrary, the surname Farley is a family name in England that dates back to the 12th century.
So, despite being born and raised in the US, Caleb might have Irish or English ethnic roots based on his surname.
Regarding his family, Caleb’s father, Robert Farley, passed away at the age of 61 at their suburban home in Mooresville, North Carolina, after a suspected gas-leak explosion on August 22, 2024.
This was the second tragedy that the football player had to go through following his mother, Robin Farley’s demise in 2018 after 10 a 10-year-long battle with breast cancer.
Married in 1987, Caleb’s parents were reportedly high school sweethearts at Maiden High School.
In regards to his parents’ passing away, Caleb Farley quoted:
“I’ve been leaning on my faith and staying with the principles my mother and my father raised me with and that’s what’s been keeping me going.”
Tennessee Titans Refrained Signing with Caleb Farley This Season Due to His Injuries
Despite being regarded as a top-10 talent in the draft class, the Tennessee Titans declined Farley’s fifth-year contract.
On May 2, 2024, the Titans announced that he won’t be on the opening 53-man roster this season.
Despite being a talented football player, he has suffered several injuries during his tournaments.
His injuries ranged from an ACL tear back in 2017 to even back spasms in 2019.
Farley took a long time off from the game due to his hamstring injury, which caused him trouble entering the NFL.
Farley’s most recent injury was a herniated disk, which required a microdiscectomy. It raised concerns that he would never be able to step on the field again.
Caleb considered a high-risk, high-reward player, has only played 12 games over the past three seasons due to injuries.
After his release from the Tennessee Titans on August 27, 2024, Caleb Farley is a free agent.
